Then I looked again and heard an eagle flying high overhead cry out in a loud voice, “Woe! Woe! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth from the rest of the trumpet blasts that the three angels are about to blow!”
Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet. There were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdom of the world now belongs to our Lord and to his Anointed, and he will reign forever and ever.”
Then I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven wrapped in a cloud, with a halo around his head; his face was like the sun and his feet were like pillars of fire. In his hand he held a small scroll that had been opened. He placed his right foot on the sea and his left foot on the land, and then he cried out in a loud voice as a lion roars. When he cried out, the seven thunders raised their voices, too. When the seven thunders had spoken, I was about to write it down; but I heard a voice from heaven say, “Seal up what the seven thunders have spoken, but do not write it down.” Then the angel I saw standing on the sea and on the land raised his right hand to heaven and swore by the one who lives forever and ever, who created heaven and earth and sea and all that is in them, “There shall be no more delay. At the time when you hear the seventh angel blow his trumpet, the mysterious plan of God shall be fulfilled, as he promised to his servants the prophets.”
NAB2 ZEC 5:1Then I raised my eyes again and saw a scroll flying. “What do you see?” he asked me. I answered, “I see a scroll flying; it is twenty cubits long and ten cubits wide.” Then he said to me: “This is the curse which is to go forth over the whole earth; in accordance with it shall every thief be swept away, and in accordance with it shall every perjurer be expelled from here. I will send it forth, says the LORD of hosts, and it shall come into the house of the thief, or into the house of him who perjures himself with my name; it shall lodge within his house, consuming it, timber and stones.” Then the angel who spoke with me came forward and said to me, “Raise your eyes and see what this is that comes forth.” “What is it?” I asked. And he answered, “This is a bushel container coming. This is their guilt in all the land.” Then a leaden cover was lifted, and there was a woman sitting inside the bushel. “This is Wickedness,” he said; and he thrust her inside the bushel, pushing the leaden cover into the opening. Then I raised my eyes and saw two women coming forth with a wind ruffling their wings, for they had wings like the wings of a stork. As they lifted up the bushel into the air, I said to the angel who spoke with me, “Where are they taking the bushel?” He replied, “To build a temple for it in the land of Shinar; when the temple is ready, they will deposit it there in its place.”
NAB REV 19:11 The King of kings. The heavens were opened, and as I looked on, a white horse appeared; its rider was called "The Faithful and True." Justice is his standard in passing judgment and in waging war. His eyes blazed like fire, and on his head were many diadems. Inscribed on his person was a name known to no one but himself. He wore a cloak that had been dipped in blood, and his name was the Word of God. The armies of heaven were behind him riding white horses and dressed in fine linen, pure and white. Out of his mouth came a sharp sword for striking down the nations. He will shepherd them with an iron rod; it is he who will tread out in the winepress the blazing wrath of God the Almighty. A name was written on the part of the cloak that covered his thigh: "King of kings and Lord of lords."...
...REV 19:19 Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth, and the armies they had mustered to do battle with the One riding the horse, and with his army. The beast was captured along with the false prophet who preformed in its presence the prodigies that led men astray, making them accept the mark of the beast and worship its image. Both were hurled down alive into the fiery pool of burning sulphur. The rest were slain by the sword of the One who rode the horse and all the birds gorged themselves on the flesh of the slain.
Though the Woes of Revelation are described as physical destruction, the Woes of Revelation do not deliver physical death and destruction at Armageddon. The Woes of Revelation are Jesus delivering spiritual death to non-repentant sinners at Armageddon. Jesus delivers spiritual death to the non-repentant with the sword of His mouth. The sword of Christ's mouth is His power to bind souls to sin. Any one held bound to their sins by Jesus is struck down in spiritual death. Jesus, as Commander and Chief, wields His sword at Armageddon through His army of Combat Angels. Christ's Combat Angels will be His Apostles. In REV 9, God has even picked out the colors of the priestly vestments worn at the Battle of Armageddon, which are, red, blue and yellow. Yellow for a globe-cross, I am hoping. The globe-cross is the symbol for Zion. The 'king' or leader of Angels of the Apocalypse, no doubt the Pope of the Apocalypse, is given the angelic name Apollyon. A Pope/Angel, of course, serving as king under, and obedient to, Jesus who is King of kings.
Then the fifth angel blew his trumpet, and I saw a star that had fallen from the sky to the earth. It was given the key for the passage to the abyss. It opened the passage to the abyss, a and smoke came up out of the passage like smoke from a huge furnace. The sun and the air were darkened by the smoke from the passage. Locusts came out of the smoke onto the land, and they were given the same power as scorpions of the earth. They were told not to harm the grass of the earth or any plant or any tree, but only those people who did not have the seal of God on their foreheads. They were not allowed to kill them but only to torment them for five months; the torment they inflicted was like that of a scorpion when it stings a person. During that time these people will seek death but will not find it, and they will long to die but death will escape them.God tells us that many repent to love God through obedience, due to the Woes of Revelation. Though the Woes of Revelation deliver spiritual death from Jesus, through the sword of His mouth, to the wicked, the Woes of Revelation cause many to repent, seek absolution of their sins, and enter into eternal life through Jesus. Mankind is rescued from Satan and doomsday is averted, due to the Woes of Revelation. The Woes of Revelation, which are the 'seven thunders' of Revelation, delivered by Jesus, with His Combat Angels, are a good thing.
The appearance of the locusts was like that of horses ready for battle. On their heads they wore what looked like crowns of gold; their faces were like human faces, and they had hair like women’s hair. Their teeth were like lions’ teeth, and they had chests like iron breastplates. The sound of their wings was like the sound of many horse-drawn chariots racing into battle. They had tails like scorpions, with stingers; with their tails they had power to harm people for five months. They had as their king the angel of the abyss, whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon and in Greek Apollyon.
The Sixth Trumpet.
The first woe has passed, but there are two more to come. Then the sixth angel blew his trumpet, and I heard a voice coming from the [four] horns of the gold altar before God, telling the sixth angel who held the trumpet, “Release the four angels who are bound at the banks of the great river Euphrates.” So the four angels were released, who were prepared for this hour, day, month, and year to kill a third of the human race. The number of cavalry troops was two hundred million; I heard their number. Now in my vision this is how I saw the horses and their riders. They wore red, blue, and yellow breastplates, and the horses’ heads were like heads of lions, and out of their mouths came fire, smoke, and sulfur. By these three plagues of fire, smoke, and sulfur that came out of their mouths a third of the human race was killed. For the power of the horses is in their mouths and in their tails; for their tails are like snakes, with heads that inflict harm.
The rest of the human race, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands, to give up the worship of demons and idols made from gold, silver, bronze, stone, and wood, which cannot see or hear or walk. Nor did they repent of their murders, their magic potions, their unchastity, or their robberies.
NAB2 ISA 33:2O LORD, have pity on us, for you we wait. Be our strength every morning, our salvation in time of trouble! At the roaring sound, peoples flee; when you rise in your majesty, nations are scattered. Men gather spoil as caterpillars are gathered up; they rush upon it like the onrush of locusts. The LORD is exalted, enthroned on high; he fills Zion with right and justice. That which makes her seasons lasting, the riches that save her, are wisdom and knowledge; the fear of the LORD is her treasure.
Jesus parable on the 'Prodigal Son' is really an allegory about Jesus' fallen brother Israel. The 'great famine' in Jesus 'Prodigal Son' parable is the battle of Armageddon. The 'great famine' is a good thing for Jesus brother Israel. It is upon the 'great famine' that Israel has a change of heart and returns to love God with all his heart. God accepts Israel through Israel's repentance from his rebellion in Babylon. Jacob, the sons of Abraham, rise back to spiritual life through Jesus through the wrath of God delivered through the Woes of Revelation, at Armageddon.
Through Israel and Judah's sins, God lets them wonder off to the distant land of Babylon. In Babylon, Israel is ruled by Satan. Satan is man's evil pride in secular world dominant power. In Babylon, Israel spends all her gifts given to her by God, when she was born coming out of Egypt.
King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon represents man's evil pride ruling over Israel. Like Jesus 'Prodigal Son', King Nebuchadnezzar is reduced from his evil human pride to the level of eating grass with the ox. It is King Nebuchadnezzar’s 'great famine' through which he (the embodiment of Satan), learns to repent. The 'great famine' in Jesus parable on the 'Prodigal Son' and King Nebuchadnezzar’s famine in eating with the ox, is God's tool which drives man's evil pride (Satan) from man's heart. Both Jesus' 'Prodigal Son' 'great famine' and King Nebuchadnezzar’s famine to eat with the ox, represent the Woes of Revelation bringing prideful man to repentance.
All this happened to King Nebuchadnezzar. Twelve months later, as he was walking on the roof of the royal palace in Babylon, the king said, “Babylon the great! Was it not I, with my great strength, who built it as a royal residence for my splendor and majesty?” While these words were still on the king’s lips, a voice spoke from heaven, “It has been decreed for you, King Nebuchadnezzar, that your kingdom is taken from you! You shall be cast out from among men, and shall dwell with wild beasts; you shall be given grass to eat like an ox, and seven years shall pass over you, until you learn that the Most High rules over the kingdom of men and gives it to whom he will.” At once this was fulfilled. Nebuchadnezzar was cast out from among men, he ate grass like an ox, and his body was bathed with the dew of heaven, until his hair grew like the feathers of an eagle, and his nails like the claws of a bird.
NAB2 REV 15:3“Great and wonderful are your works, Lord God almighty. Just and true are your ways, O king of the nations. Who will not fear you, Lord, or glorify your name? For you alone are holy. All the nations will come and worship before you, for your righteous acts have been revealed.” After this I had another vision. The temple that is the heavenly tent of testimony opened, and the seven angels with the seven plagues came out of the temple. They were dressed in clean white linen, with a gold sash around their chests. One of the four living creatures gave the seven angels seven gold bowls filled with the fury of God, who lives forever and ever. Then the temple became so filled with the smoke from God’s glory and might that no one could enter it until the seven plagues of the seven angels had been accomplished.DAN 4 Continued:When this period was over, I, Nebuchadnezzar, raised my eyes to heaven; my reason was restored to me, and I blessed the Most High, I praised and glorified him who lives forever:
His dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom endures through all generations. All who live on the earth are counted as nothing; he does as he pleases with the powers of heaven as well as with those who live on the earth. There is no one who can stay his hand or say to him, “What have you done?”
At the same time my reason returned to me, and for the glory of my kingdom, my majesty and my splendor returned to me. My nobles and lords sought me out; I was restored to my kingdom, and became much greater than before. Therefore, I, Nebuchadnezzar, now praise and exalt and glorify the King of heaven, because all his works are right and his ways just; and those who walk in pride he is able to humble.
It is at Armageddon that Jesus goes after His brothers Israel and Judah. Jesus delivers His brother home to God our Father through the use of the Woes of Revelations. Jesus delivers the Woes of Revelations through His Combat Angels. It is spiritual death strikes from the sword of Christ's mouth at Armageddon, not physical death blows. Israel and Judah can repent and return to God our Father, through absolution of sins, from the blows delivered by the sword of Christ's mouth at Armageddon. Many do. It is the Restored Kingdom Israel at Zion that Jesus brothers return home to, after the Battle of Armageddon.
It is through Judgment, Justice and punishment that Jesus brings His brothers Jacob home to the Promised Land II. Jesus saves mankind from their evil human pride, which is Satan. As it was God's Woes which liberated Israel from Egypt, so will it be God's Woes which liberate Israel from Satan/Babylon in the era of the apocalypse. As ironical as it sounds, it is punishment which frees God's people from Satan. The more people form their false god into an 'unconditional love', 'universal salvation' god, the furthur from our true God they distance themselves through their sins. The more people think God will not damn them for anything, the more people head into damnation. Sparing the rod, damns the masses. It is God's woes, deployed by Jesus at Armageddon, which free God's people from Satan/Babylon. Though not all choose to leave Satan/Babylon to return to Zion, scripture indicates many will. Once the 'great famine' hits upon Armageddon, many will be the number of prodigal brothers whom Jesus brings home to the Father.
Let the outcasts of Moab live with you, be their shelter from the destroyer. When the struggle is ended, the ruin complete, and they have done with trampling the land, A throne shall be set up in mercy, and on it shall sit in fidelity (in David’s tent) A judge upholding right and prompt to do justice.
NAB2 LUK 15:11Then he said, “A man had two sons, and the younger son said to his father, ‘Father, give me the share of your estate that should come to me.’ So the father divided the property between them. After a few days, the younger son collected all his belongings and set off to a distant country where he squandered his inheritance on a life of dissipation. When he had freely spent everything, a severe famine struck that country, and he found himself in dire need.
NAB2 PRO 23:13Withhold not chastisement from a boy; if you beat him with the rod, he will not die. Beat him with the rod, and you will save him from the nether world.LUK 15 Continued: So he hired himself out to one of the local citizens who sent him to his farm to tend the swine. And he longed to eat his fill of the pods on which the swine fed, but nobody gave him any. Coming to his senses he thought, ‘How many of my father’s hired workers have more than enough food to eat, but here am I, dying from hunger. I shall get up and go to my father and I shall say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I no longer deserve to be called your son; treat me as you would treat one of your hired workers.”' So he got up and went back to his father. While he was still a long way off, his father caught sight of him, and was filled with compassion. He ran to his son, embraced him and kissed him. His son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you; I no longer deserve to be called your son.’ But his father ordered his servants, ‘Quickly bring the finest robe and put it on him; put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. Take the fattened calf and slaughter it. Then let us celebrate with a feast, because this son of mine was dead, and has come to life again; he was lost, and has been found.’ Then the celebration began.
NAB2 HOS 6:1In their affliction, they shall look for me: “Come, let us return to the LORD, For it is he who has rent, but he will heal us; he has struck us, but he will bind our wounds. He will revive us after two days; on the third day he will raise us up, to live in his presence. Let us know, let us strive to know the LORD; as certain as the dawn is his coming, and his judgment shines forth like the light of day! He will come to us like the rain, like spring rain that waters the earth.” What can I do with you, Ephraim? What can I do with you, Judah? Your piety is like a morning cloud, like the dew that early passes away. For this reason smote them through the prophets, I slew them by the words of my mouth; For it is love that I desire, not sacrifice, and knowledge of God rather than holocausts.
NAB2 MAT 9:11The Pharisees saw this and said to his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?” He heard this and said, “Those who are well do not need a physician, but the sick do. Go and learn the meaning of the words, ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ I did not come to call the righteous but sinners.”
NAB2 MAR 12:28Which is the first of all the commandments?” Jesus replied, “The first is this: ‘Hear, O Israel! The Lord our God is Lord alone! You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” The scribe said to him, “Well said, teacher. You are right in saying, ‘He is One and there is no other than he.’ And ‘to love him with all your heart, with all your understanding, with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself’ is worth more than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.” And when Jesus saw that (he) answered with understanding, he said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.” And no one dared to ask him any more questions. As Jesus was teaching in the temple area he said, “How do the scribes claim that the Messiah is the son of David? David himself, inspired by the holy Spirit, said: ‘The Lord said to my lord, “Sit at my right hand until I place your enemies under your feet.”’ David himself calls him ‘lord’; so how is he his son?” (The) great crowd heard this with delight.HOS 6 Continued: But they, in their land, violated the covenant; there they were untrue to me. Gilead is a city of evildoers, tracked with blood. As brigands ambush a man, a band of priests slay on the way to Shechem, committing monstrous crime. In the house of Israel I have seen a horrible thing: there harlotry is found in Ephraim, Israel is defiled. For you also, O Judah, a harvest has been appointed.
NAB2 HOS 11:10They shall follow the LORD, who roars like a lion; When he roars, his sons shall come frightened from the west, Out of Egypt they shall come trembling, like sparrows, from the land of Assyria, like doves; And I will resettle them in their homes, says the LORD.
Repentance to Service
Can you even comprehend a scenario where Christ's shepherds denied the prodigal son his 'great famine' and his tremendous opportunity to eat with the pigs? (HOS 6:5 I smote them through the prophets, I slew them by the words of my mouth) Had the prodigal son in Christ's 'Prodigal Son' parable never experienced the 'great famine', where he realized he was sure to die, the prodigal son probably would have happily lived out his physical life in spiritual death. A billion years from now, as the prodigal lives out his eternal life, he will be most grateful to the shepherds of Christ who granted him his 'great famine' at Armageddon, where he found himself 'in dire need'. It was the gift of eating with the pigs, which helped the prodigal son relinquish himself from his evil human pride (Satan). The beauty of being struck down by the sword of God's mouth anathema, is that one can repent, seek absolution, and rise back to spiritual life. It is man's repentance to love God and spiritual life for the masses through absolution, that God and man will receive as fruit from The Battle of Armageddon. Armageddon is the "a harvest has been appointed" in HOS 6.
The Great Famine.
Then I watched while the Lamb broke open the first of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living creatures cry out in a voice like thunder, “Come forward.” I looked, and there was a white horse, and its rider had a bow. He was given a crown, and he rode forth victorious to further his victories. When he broke open the second seal, I heard the second living creature cry out, “Come forward.” Another horse came out, a red one. Its rider was given power to take peace away from the earth, so that people would slaughter one another. And he was given a huge sword. When he broke open the third seal, I heard the third living creature cry out, “Come forward.” I looked, and there was a black horse, and its rider held a scale in his hand. I heard what seemed to be a voice in the midst of the four living creatures. It said, “A ration of wheat costs a day’s pay, and three rations of barley cost a day’s pay. But do not damage the olive oil or the wine.” When he broke open the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature cry out, “Come forward.” I looked, and there was a pale green horse. Its rider was named Death, and Hades accompanied him. They were given authority over a quarter of the earth, to kill with sword, famine, and plague, and by means of the beasts of the earth. When he broke open the fifth seal, I saw underneath the altar the souls of those who had been slaughtered because of the witness they bore to the word of God. They cried out in a loud voice, “How long will it be, holy and true master, before you sit in judgment and avenge our blood on the inhabitants of the earth?” Each of them was given a white robe, and they were told to be patient a little while longer until the number was filled of their fellow servants and brothers who were going to be killed as they had been. Then I watched while he broke open the sixth seal, and there was a great earthquake; the sun turned as black as dark sackcloth and the whole moon became like blood. The stars in the sky fell to the earth like unripe figs shaken loose from the tree in a strong wind. Then the sky was divided, like a torn scroll curling up, and every mountain and island was moved from its place. The kings of the earth, the nobles, the military officers, the rich, the powerful, and every slave and free person hid themselves in caves and among mountain crags. They cried out to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of the one who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb, because the great day of their wrath has come and who can withstand it?”Can you even imagine if Satan were to convince Christ's shepherds, His great judges of the twelve tribes of Israel in future Zion, to not grant the prodigal son his 'great famine’? Satan is man's evil pride. Satan would, of course, rather have Satan left as ruler over the world. Satan is furious when Christ's shepherds displace him as ruler over the earth to enthrone Jesus as Ruler over the earth, at Armageddon.
Jesus will Rule Israel and the world with the sword of His mouth. Jesus will be enthroned as King and Ruler over Israel and the world, when His Law goes into effect upon Armageddon.
As I live, says the Lord GOD, with a mighty hand and outstretched arm, with poured-out wrath, I swear I will be king over you! With a mighty hand and outstretched arm, with poured-out wrath, I will bring you out from the nations and gather you from the countries over which you are scattered; then I will lead you to the desert of the peoples, where I will enter into judgment with you face to face. Just as I entered into judgment with your fathers in the desert of the land of Egypt, so will I enter into judgment with you, says the Lord GOD. I will count you with the staff and bring back but a small number. I will separate from you those who have rebelled and transgressed against me; from the land where they sojourned as aliens I will bring them out, but they shall not return to the land of Israel. Thus you shall know that I am the LORD. As for you, house of Israel, thus says the Lord GOD: Come, each one of you, destroy your idols! Then listen to me, and never again profane my holy name with your gifts and your idols. For on my holy mountain, on the mountain height of Israel, says the Lord GOD, there the whole house of Israel without exception shall worship me; there I will accept them, and there I will claim your tributes and the first fruits of your offerings, and all that you dedicate. As a pleasing odor I will accept you, when I have brought you from among the nations and gathered you out of the countries over which you were scattered; and by means of you I will manifest my holiness in the sight of the nations.Satan is man's evil pride in secular world powers and individual's hearts. The Woes of Revelation, poured out on Satan/Babylon, are a mirror to the Woes God poured out on Egypt/Satan during Israel's Exodus. The restoration of Israel in the Promised Land II, mirrors the original establishment of Israel in the Promised Land I. God sent Woes upon Egypt/Satan to force Egypt to let His people go to the Promised Land I. God sends the Woes of Revelations upon Satan/Babylon to force Satan/Babylon to let His people go to the Promised Land II.
After Egypt lets God's people go, it is then God who is King over Israel. After Satan/Babylon lets God's people go in the future apocalypse, it is then that Jesus is enthroned as King over the Restored Kingdom Israel and the world. .
After Egypt releases God's people in Exodus, the Pharaoh then sends all his army to catch and destroy the Israelites. After Satan is felled from heaven/power over God's people upon the future apocalyptic Battle of Armageddon, Satan then chases after God's people to destroy them. As God rescues and protects His people on there way out of Egypt, God also promises to rescue and protect His people on there way away from Satan/Babylon in the future post Armageddon era of the apocalypse.
After Satan/Babylon is felled from heaven/power, he chases after the people of Zion. God protects His People. Rev 12: "But the earth helped the woman and opened its mouth and swallowed the flood that the dragon spewed out of its mouth." The woman in REV 12 is the Church. This is the Church right after Zion is established at Armageddon. The earth helping the Church in Rev 12 mirrors the earth helping Israel to cross the Red Sea in Moses day.
Then war broke out in heaven; Michael and his angels battled against the dragon. The dragon and its angels fought back, but they did not prevail and there was no longer any place for them in heaven. The huge dragon, the ancient serpent, who is called the Devil and Satan, who deceived the whole world, was thrown down to earth, and its angels were thrown down with it. Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: “Now have salvation and power come, and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Anointed. For the accuser of our brothers is cast out, who accuses them before our God day and night. They conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; love for life did not deter them from death. Therefore, rejoice, you heavens, and you who dwell in them. But woe to you, earth and sea, for the Devil has come down to you in great fury, for he knows he has but a short time.” When the dragon saw that it had been thrown down to the earth, it pursued the woman who had given birth to the male child. But the woman was given the two wings of the great eagle, so that she could fly to her place in the desert, where, far from the serpent, she was taken care of for a year, two years, and a half-year. The serpent, however, spewed a torrent of water out of his mouth after the woman to sweep her away with the current. But the earth helped the woman and opened its mouth and swallowed the flood that the dragon spewed out of its mouth. Then the dragon became angry with the woman and went off to wage war against the rest of her offspring, those who keep God’s commandments and bear witness to Jesus. It took its position on the sand of the sea.God wants to show the world His power and commitment to Israel in Moses day. God hardens the Pharaoh’s heart so that he chases after Israel in Moses day. God physically destroys Israel's foe Egypt. It is likely that the reason God hardens the Pharaoh’s heart to chase after Israel in Moses day is to show us God's plan to show His glory in protecting Zion after Armageddon. Once the Church takes the initiative to destroy Satan at Armageddon, this will be when the cannons from heaven physically release massive physical destruction upon Zion's foes. God promises to be very active in the world once the Church commits to His divine plan at Armageddon. It is at and after the Battle of Armageddon that God 'wakes from His sleep' and 'no longer hides His face' from Israel and the world. We will see God's glory through His active, physical, protection of His newly born bride Zion.
NAB2 EXO 14:8So obstinate had the LORD made Pharaoh that he pursued the Israelites even while they were marching away in triumph. The Egyptians, then, pursued them; Pharaoh’s whole army, his horses, chariots and charioteers, caught up with them as they lay encamped by the sea, at Pi-hahiroth, in front of Baal-zephon. Pharaoh was already near when the Israelites looked up and saw that the Egyptians were on the march in pursuit of them. In great fright they cried out to the LORD. And they complained to Moses, “Were there no burial places in Egypt that you had to bring us out here to die in the desert? Why did you do this to us? Why did you bring us out of Egypt? Did we not tell you this in Egypt, when we said, ‘Leave us alone. Let us serve the Egyptians’? Far better for us to be the slaves of the Egyptians than to die in the desert.” But Moses answered the people, “Fear not! Stand your ground, and you will see the victory the LORD will win for you today. These Egyptians whom you see today you will never see again. The LORD himself will fight for you; you have only to keep still.” Then the LORD said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to go forward. And you, lift up your staff and, with hand outstretched over the sea, split the sea in two, that the Israelites may pass through it on dry land. But I will make the Egyptians so obstinate that they will go in after them. Then I will receive glory through Pharaoh and all his army, his chariots and charioteers. The Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD, when I receive glory through Pharaoh and his chariots and charioteers.” The angel of God, who had been leading Israel’s camp, now moved and went around behind them. The column of cloud also, leaving the front, took up its place behind them, so that it came between the camp of the Egyptians and that of Israel. But the cloud now became dark, and thus the night passed without the rival camps coming any closer together all night long. Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the LORD swept the sea with a strong east wind throughout the night and so turned it into dry land. When the water was thus divided, the Israelites marched into the midst of the sea on dry land, with the water like a wall to their right and to their left. The Egyptians followed in pursuit; all Pharaoh’s horses and chariots and charioteers went after them right into the midst of the sea. In the night watch just before dawn the LORD cast through the column of the fiery cloud upon the Egyptian force a glance that threw it into a panic; and he so clogged their chariot wheels that they could hardly drive. With that the Egyptians sounded the retreat before Israel, because the LORD was fighting for them against the Egyptians. Then the LORD told Moses, “Stretch out your hand over the sea, that the water may flow back upon the Egyptians, upon their chariots and their charioteers.” So Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and at dawn the sea flowed back to its normal depth. The Egyptians were fleeing head on toward the sea, when the LORD hurled them into its midst. As the water flowed back, it covered the chariots and the charioteers of Pharaoh’s whole army which had followed the Israelites into the sea. Not a single one of them escaped. But the Israelites had marched on dry land through the midst of the sea, with the water like a wall to their right and to their left. Thus the LORD saved Israel on that day from the power of the Egyptians. When Israel saw the Egyptians lying dead on the seashore and beheld the great power that the LORD had shown against the Egyptians, they feared the LORD and believed in him and in his servant Moses.
The woes of Revelation are poured out on Satan/Babylon in order to rescue God's people from Satan. God's people are protected form the woes of Egypt and the woes of Revelations. Those who are obstinate and refuse to separate themselves from Satan/Babylon, suffer the Woes of Revelation. Satan is man's evil pride through unrepentant sin. Those who refuse to be rescued from Satan, but rather stay in Babylon/Egypt to let human pride Satan rule over them, will suffer the wrath of God as the Pharaoh suffered.
Scripture indicates that the 'kings of the earth' will rise in opposition to Jesus at Armageddon. This mirrors the Pharaoh’s opposition to God and Moses. As God's glory shined forth in fighting Satan/Egypt, so will God's glory shine forth in fighting Satan/Babylon in the apocalypse.
When the seventh trumpet of Armageddon Blows, Jesus will rule the world forever. Hallelujah! So how does Jesus rule over the free-willed earth which has abortion, fornication, perjury, blasphemy and sin in the world? Jesus does not allow these sins as Satan (man's evil pride) does. Great sins and apostasy in the world is why Jesus takes leadership over the world from Satan. There is no way that Jesus could take over as King on earth without His enthronement as Ruler of the earth looking like Armageddon. Common sense tells us that six billion free willed people are not all going to simply give up sin and now worship and obey God at Armageddon. The woes of Revelations will be a prompt for them to do so.
The angels taking hot coals from under God's throne in heaven and pouring them out upon the earth is actually Jesus' Law going into effect on earth. Anyone of any race, religion or nationality can surrender to Jesus the King. It is those who do not surrender to Christ's authority and Law on earth who suffer the Woes of Revelations. God's people, who surrender to and love God through obedience, are protected under God's wing, from the Woes of Revelations, at Armageddon.
Scripture indicates that God's plan B, Armageddon, succeeds where God's plan A, Exodus from Egypt, failed. God's plan B is Christ's enthronement as Ruler over the earth. Jesus’ enthronement as King of the world is initiated and engaged upon Armageddon. Those who do not submit to Jesus Rule, at and after Armageddon, are struck down in spiritual death by the sword of His mouth. Not all surrender to Jesus. This is why the great and awesome event of Christ's enthronement as Ruler over the earth, looks, as it does, like Armageddon. Much of the physical death and destruction of the Woes of Revelation is really spiritual death caused by strikes from the sword of Christ's mouth. Armageddon, and the Woes of Revelations, depicts Christ's Rule going into effect.
Jesus will Rule the earth with the 'Keys to the Kingdom'. The 'Keys to the Kingdom' are Jesus' Power to bind and loost sins. Anyone bound to sin by Jesus, though they may still be physically alive, they are spiritually dead. Those loost from any bindings are God's chosen people who live in God's Holy City, Zion, on earth. The people of Zion are God's chosen people Israel on earth in God's plan B. It is Christ's priests who will tend His flock, the Holy City Zion. Jesus has handed to His priests on earth, His Power, of the 'Keys to the Kingdom', to shepherd His flock, under His Rule.
Through Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, King David, Isaiah and all the great ancient ones, God has established His relationship with His people Israel. Though God's plan adapts to the free-willed choices of man, God's strong bond with His people Israel remains, Powerfully, in tact. Any harm done to God's precious one, Israel, will be vindicated by Israel's great Protector, God. On the other side of the Battle of Armageddon, the whole world will have no question as to whose god is the true God. God, the One and only God, is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Through Armageddon and beyond, the world will see this. God has told us this in scriptures.
Though the Woes of Revelations are the 'sword' of Christ's mouth, separating out the sheep from the goats, through Church auto anathemas and absolutions, at Armageddon, the Woes are depicted as smashing Israel's foes; Assyria and Babylon to be exact. Though Assyrian and Babylonian world power historically fell millenniums ago, Israel's great Protector, God, has a vindication to uphold for His bride and children, the Holy City Zion, the Restored Nation Israel. Babylon and Assyria, along with their world power successors, are the ones who scattered and oppressed God's people Israel. At the Battle of Armageddon, Babylon and Assyria, along with Egypt, who oppressed Israel, take on the symbolic role of God's enemies, Satan and Satan's army, who hate Him. Satan is man's evil pride through sin which encompasses even the sinful pride of Israel. However, symbolically, at the Battle of Armageddon, Babylon and Assyria are Satan. Symbolically, at Armageddon, in the book of Revelations, God's woes smash Satan, whom Satan is represented as Babylon and Assyria. Satan is man's evil pride in unrepentant sins.
Satan is the bad guy in the apocalypse. Satan is man's evil pride through sin on earth. Race and nationality have nothing to do with which individual people, race or nation are the bad guy, Satan. Many of Israel's physical descendants will be part of Babylon and many of Babylonian, Egyptian and Assyrian physical descent will be a part of Zion. God is going to smash Satan at Armageddon in the era of the apocalypse. Anyone of any race or nationality can come to Jesus and Our Father.
Jesus victory in defeating mankind's evil human pride, Satan, at Armageddon is what apocalyptic authors are telling us. Satan is man's evil pride. It is man's evil pride, which is devastating us in our present time. Satan, not Jesus, is leading the nations in our time. Upon the Battle of Armageddon, man's evil pride Satan is demolished. Jesus will take over as Ruler of the world. No longer will nations or individuals suffer from Satan's temptation. Post Armageddon, where the whole world lives under Jesus' Rule, is where we want to be. Understanding apocalyptic writings leading to Christ's Messianic Reign, over all the free willed earth, is the wisdom we seek from apocalyptic scriptures. This wisdom is encrypted in the biblical drama played out between God, Israel and Babylon.
Both Old Testament apocalyptic prophets and New Testament apocalyptic prophet John of Revelations are telling us the same message. This message is God's plan of Christ's Rule over the world. Under Christ's Rule mankind's evil pride does not tempt the world into apostasy. Under Christ's Rule the world blossoms into abundant love for God through obedience to God. By merging Old Testament apocalyptic writings with New Testament apocalyptic Book of Revelations, which both Old and New Testament apocalyptic books tell the same story, hopefully Satan's fall to Christ's reign will come into clarity. The woes of Revelation are all targeted at crushing Satan. Babylon is symbolic for Satan.
It is the Woes of Revelations, which smash the foe Satan as to rescue God's people from their bondage to the devil. The woes of Revelations mirror the woes of the Exodus from Egypt where God rescued His people from bondage in Egypt. Bondage to sin is different from bondage to Satan. Jesus death and resurrection rescues us from sin having the power to ban us from salvation. Jesus Messianic Reign rescues us from Satan, which Satan is man's evil human pride in remaining in sin.; There is a difference. We have Jesus blood for salvation. We, living in pre-Armageddon, still have Satan tempting us into remaining in sin, through man's pride, which is Satan. The woes of Revelations at Christ's enthronement upon the earth at Armageddon are poured out to rescue man from his bondage to his evil human pride in unrepentant sin. Mankind is rescued from their evil human pride, upon Armageddon. It is the Woes of Revelation, which rescue mankind from his evil pride at Armageddon.
Then the fifth angel blew his trumpet, and I saw a star that had fallen from the sky to the earth. It was given the key for the passage to the abyss. It opened the passage to the abyss, and smoke came up out of the passage like smoke from a huge furnace. The sun and the air were darkened by the smoke from the passage.
NAB REV 1:16A sharp, two-edged sword came out of his mouth, and his face shone like the sun at its brightest. When I caught sight of him I fell down at his feet as though dead, he touched me with his right hand and said: "There is nothing to fear. I am the First and the Last and the One who lives. Once I was dead but not I live-- forever and ever. I hold the keys of death and the nether world."
NAB ISA 11:4 The Rule of Immanuel. He shall strike the ruthless with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips he shall slay the wicked.REV 9 Continued: Locusts came out of the smoke onto the land, and they were given the same power as scorpions of the earth. They were told not to harm the grass of the earth or any plant or any tree, but only those people who did not have the seal of God on their foreheads. They were not allowed to kill them but only to torment them for five months; the torment they inflicted was like that of a scorpion when it stings a person. During that time these people will seek death but will not find it, and they will long to die but death will escape them.
NAB MAT 16:13Jesus replied, "Blest are you, Simon son of John! No mere man has revealed this to you, but my heavenly Father. I for my part declare to you, you are 'Rock,' and on this rock I will build my church, and the jaws of death shall not prevail against it. I will entrust to you the keys of the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you declare bound on earth shall be bound in heaven; whatever you declare loosed on earth shall be loosed in heaven." Then he strictly ordered his disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Messiah.
NAB2 LUK 3:17His winnowing fan is in his hand to clear his threshing floor and to gather the wheat into his barn, but the chaff he will burn with unquenchable fire.”
NAB2 JER 51:1Thus says the LORD: See! I rouse against Babylon, and against those who live in Chaldea, a destroying wind. Against Babylon I will send winnowers to winnow her and lay waste her land; They shall besiege her from all sides on the day of affliction. Let the bowman draw his bow,REV 9 Continued: The first woe has passed, but there are two more to come. Then the sixth angel blew his trumpet, and I heard a voice coming from the (four) horns of the gold altar before God, telling the sixth angel who held the trumpet, “Release the four angels who are bound at the banks of the great river Euphrates.”
NAB2 REV 6:1Then I watched while the Lamb broke open the first of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living creatures cry out in a voice like thunder, “Come forward.” I looked, and there was a white horse, and its rider had a bow. He was given a crown, and he rode forth victorious to further his victories.JER 51 Continued: and flaunt his coat of mail; Spare not her young men, doom her entire army. The slain shall fall in the land of Chaldea, the transfixed, in her streets; For Israel and Judah are not widowed of their God, the LORD of hosts, And the Chaldean land is full of guilt to be punished by the Holy One of Israel. Flee out of Babylon; let each one save his life, perish not for her guilt; This is a time of vengeance for the LORD, he pays her her due. Babylon was a golden cup in the hand of the LORD which made the whole earth drunk; The nations drank its wine, with this they have become mad.
NAB2 REV 18:2He cried out in a mighty voice: “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great. She has become a haunt for demons. She is a cage for every unclean spirit, a cage for every unclean bird, (a cage for every unclean) and disgusting (beast). For all the nations have drunk the wine of her licentious passion. The kings of the earth had intercourse with her, and the merchants of the earth grew rich from her drive for luxury.” Then I heard another voice from heaven say: “Depart from her, my people, so as not to take part in her sins and receive a share in her plagues, for her sins are piled up to the sky, and God remembers her crimes. Pay her back as she has paid others. Pay her back double for her deeds. Into her cup pour double what she poured. To the measure of her boasting and wantonness repay her in torment and grief; for she said to herself, ‘I sit enthroned as queen; I am no widow, and I will never know grief.’ Therefore, her plagues will come in one day, pestilence, grief, and famine;Continued JER 51: Babylon suddenly falls and is crushed: howl over her! Bring balm for her wounds, in case she can be healed. “We have tried to heal Babylon, but she cannot be healed. Leave her, let us go, each to his own land.” Her judgment reaches heaven, it touches the clouds. The LORD has brought to light our just cause; come, let us tell in Zion what the LORD, our God, has done. Sharpen the arrows, fill the quivers; The LORD has stirred up the spirit of Media’s kings; Babylon he is resolved to destroy. Yes, it is the vengeance of the LORD, vengeance for his temple. Against the walls of Babylon raise a signal, make strong the watch; Post sentries, arrange ambushes! For the LORD has planned and he will carry out his threat against the inhabitants of Babylon. You who dwell by mighty waters, rich in treasure, Your end has come, the term at which you shall be cut off! The LORD of hosts has sworn by himself: I will fill you with men as numerous as locusts,
NAB2 REV 6:4Another horse came out, a red one.
NAB2 REV 9:Locusts came out of the smoke onto the land, and they were given the same power as scorpions of the earth.JER 51 Continued: who shall raise over you the vintage shout! He has sworn who made the earth by his power, and established the world by his wisdom, and stretched out the heavens by his skill. When he thunders, the waters in the heavens roar,
NAB2 REV 9Their teeth were like lions’ teeth, and they had chests like iron breastplates. The sound of their wings was like the sound of many horse-drawn chariots racing into battle.JER 51 Continued: and he brings up clouds from the end of the earth; He makes the lightning flash in the rain, and releases stormwinds from their chambers. Every man is stupid, ignorant; every artisan is put to shame by his idol: He molded a fraud, without breath of life. Nothingness are they, a ridiculous work, that will perish in their time of punishment. Not like these is the portion of Jacob, he is the creator of all things; Israel is his very own tribe, LORD of hosts is his name. You are my hammer, my weapon for war; With you I shatter nations, with you I destroy kingdoms.
NAB REV 19:11 The King of kings. The armies of heaven were behind him riding white horses and dressed in fine linen, pure and white. Out of his mouth came a sharp sword for striking down the nations. He will shepherd them with an iron rod; it is he who will tread out in the winepress the blazing wrath of God the Almighty. A name was written on the part of the cloak that covered his thigh: "King of kings and Lord of lords."JER 51 Continued : With you I shatter horse and rider, with you I shatter chariot and driver. With you I shatter man and wife, with you I shatter old and young, with you I shatter the youth and maiden. With you I shatter the shepherd and his flock, with you I shatter the farmer and his team, with you I shatter satraps and prefects. Thus will I repay Babylon, and all who live in Chaldea All the evil they did to Zion, as you shall see with your own eyes, says the LORD. Beware! I am against you, destroying mountain, destroyer of the entire earth, says the LORD; I will stretch forth my hand against you, roll you down over the cliffs, and make you a burnt mountain:
NAB2 REV 8:7When the first one blew his trumpet, there came hail and fire mixed with blood, which was hurled down to the earth. A third of the land was burned up, along with a third of the trees and all green grass. When the second angel blew his trumpet, something like a large burning mountain was hurled into the sea. A third of the sea turned to blood, a third of the creatures living in the sea died, and a third of the ships were wrecked.JER 51 Continued : They will not take from you a cornerstone, or a foundation stone; Ruins forever shall you be, says the LORD. Raise a signal on the earth, blow the trumpet among the nations; Dedicate peoples to war against her, summon against her the kingdoms,
NAB2 REV 11:15Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet. There were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdom of the world now belongs to our Lord and to his Anointed, and he will reign forever and ever.” The twenty-four elders who sat on their thrones before God prostrated themselves and worshiped God and said: “We give thanks to you, Lord God almighty, who are and who were. For you have assumed your great power and have established your reign. The nations raged, but your wrath has come, and the time for the dead to be judged, and to recompense your servants, the prophets, and the holy ones and those who fear your name, the small and the great alike, and to destroy those who destroy the earth. Then God’s temple in heaven was opened, and the ark of his covenant could be seen in the temple. There were flashes of lightning, rumblings, and peals of thunder, an earthquake, and a violent hailstorm.JER 51 Continued : Ararat, Minni, and Ashkenaz; Appoint recruiting officers against her, send up horses like bristling locusts. Dedicate peoples to war against her: the king of Media, Its governors and all its prefects, every land in his domain. The earth quakes and writhes, the LORD’S plan against Babylon is carried out, Turning the land of Babylon into a desert where no one lives.
NAB2 REV 16:17The seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air. A loud voice came out of the temple from the throne, saying, “It is done.” Then there were lightning flashes, rumblings, and peals of thunder, and a great earthquake. It was such a violent earthquake that there has never been one like it since the human race began on earth. The great city was split into three parts, and the gentile cities fell. But God remembered great Babylon, giving it the cup filled with the wine of his fury and wrath.JER 51 Continued : Babylon’s warriors have ceased to fight, they remain in their strongholds; Dried up is their strength, they have become women. Burned are their homes, and broken their bars. One runner meets another, herald meets herald, Telling the king of Babylon that all his city is taken. The fords have been seized, and the fortresses set on fire, while warriors are in panic. For thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel:
NAB2 MAT 3:11His winnowing fan is in his hand. He will clear his threshing floor and gather his wheat into his barn, but the chaff he will burn with unquenchable fire.”JER 51 Continued: Daughter Babylon is like a threshing floor at the time it is trodden; Yet a little while, and the harvest time will come for her. He has consumed me, routed me, (Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon,) he has left me as an empty vessel; He has swallowed me like a dragon: filled his belly with my delights, and cast me out. My torn flesh be upon Babylon, says the city on Zion; My blood upon the people of Chaldea, says Jerusalem. But now, thus says the LORD: Surely I will defend your cause, I will avenge you;
NAB2 REV 19:1“Alleluia! Salvation, glory, and might belong to our God, for true and just are his judgments. He has condemned the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her harlotry. He has avenged on her the blood of his servants.” They said a second time: “Alleluia! Smoke will rise from her forever and ever.”JER 51 Continued : I will dry up her sea, and drain her fountain. Babylon shall become a heap of ruins, a haunt of jackals; A place of horror and ridicule, where no one lives. They all roar like lions, growl like lion cubs. When they are parched, I will set a drink before them to make them drunk, that they may be overcome with perpetual sleep, never to awaken, says the LORD. I will bring them down like lambs to the slaughter, like rams and goats. How has she been seized, made captive, the glory of the whole world! What a horror has Babylon become among nations: against Babylon the sea rises, she is overwhelmed by the roaring waves! Her cities have become a desert, parched and arid land Where no man lives, and no one passes through. I will punish Bel in Babylon, and make him disgorge what he swallowed; peoples shall stream to him no more. The wall of Babylon falls! Leave her, my people, let each one save himself from the burning wrath of the LORD. Be not discouraged for fear of rumors spread in the land; this year the rumor comes, then violence in the land, tyrant against tyrant. But behold, the days are coming when I will punish the idols of Babylon; her whole land shall be put to shame, and all her slain shall lie fallen within her. Then heaven, and earth, and everything in them shall shout over Babylon with joy, when the destroyers come against her from the north, says the LORD. Babylon, too, must fall, O slain of Israel, as at the hands of Babylon have fallen the slain of all the earth. You who have escaped the sword, go on, stand not still; Remember the LORD from afar, let Jerusalem come to your minds. We are ashamed because we have heard taunts, confusion covers our faces; strangers have entered the holy places of the house of the LORD. But behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when I will punish her idols, and in her whole land the wounded will groan. Though Babylon scale the heavens, and make her strong heights inaccessible, destroyers from me shall reach her, says the LORD. Hear! loud cries from Babylon, dire destruction from the land of the Chaldeans; For the LORD lays Babylon waste, stills her loud cry, Though her waves were roaring like mighty waters, and their clamor was heard afar. For the destroyer comes upon her, (Babylon,) her heroes are captured, their bows broken; The LORD is a God who requites, he will surely repay. I will make her princes and her wise men drunk, her governors, her prefects, and her warriors, so that they sleep an eternal sleep, never to awaken, says the King, whose name is the LORD of hosts. Thus says the LORD of hosts: The walls of spacious Babylon shall be leveled utterly; her lofty gates shall be destroyed by fire.
NAB2 REV 18:23Because your merchants were the great ones of the world, all nations were led astray by your magic potion. In her was found the blood of prophets and holy ones and all who have been slain on the earth.”
NAB2 REV 18:15The merchants who deal in these goods, who grew rich from her, will keep their distance for fear of the torment inflicted on her. Weeping and mourning, they cry out: “Alas, alas, great city, wearing fine linen, purple and scarlet, adorned (in) gold, precious stones, and pearls. In one hour this great wealth has been ruined.” Every captain of a ship, every traveler at sea, sailors, and seafaring merchants stood at a distance and cried out when they saw the smoke of her pyre, “What city could compare with the great city?” They threw dust on their heads and cried out, weeping and mourning: “Alas, alas, great city, in which all who had ships at sea grew rich from her wealth. In one hour she has been ruined. Rejoice over her, heaven, you holy ones, apostles, and prophets. For God has judged your case against her.” A mighty angel picked up a stone like a huge millstone and threw it into the sea and said: “With such force will Babylon the great city be thrown down, and will never be found again.JER 51 Continued : The toil of the nations is for nothing; for the flames the peoples weary themselves. This was the errand given by the prophet Jeremiah to Seraiah, son of Neriah, son of Mahseiah, when he went to Babylon for the king in the fourth year of the reign of Zedekiah; Seraiah was chief quartermaster. Jeremiah had written all the misfortune that was to befall Babylon in a single book: all these words that were written against Babylon. And Jeremiah said to Seraiah: When you reach Babylon, see that you read aloud all these words, and then say: O LORD, you yourself threatened to destroy this place, so that neither man nor beast should dwell in it, since it would remain an everlasting desert. When you have finished reading this book, tie a stone to it and throw it in the Euphrates, and say: Thus shall Babylon sink. Never shall she rise, because of the evil I am bringing upon her.
NAB2 REV 18:21A mighty angel picked up a stone like a huge millstone and threw it into the sea and said: “With such force will Babylon the great city be thrown down, and will never be found again.
The sixth angel emptied his bowl on the great river Euphrates. Its water was dried up to prepare the way for the kings of the East.
Rejoice not, O Philistia, not a man of you, that the rod which smote you is broken; For out of the serpent’s root shall come an adder, its fruit shall be a flying saraph. In my pastures the poor shall eat, and the needy lie down in safety; But I will kill your root with famine that shall slay even your remnant. Howl, O gate; cry out, O city! Philistia, all of you melts away! For there comes a smoke from the north, without a straggler in the ranks. What will one answer the messengers of the nation? “The LORD has established Zion, and in her the afflicted of his people find refuge.”The statue of king Nebuchadnezzar’s dream, in Daniel 2:31, quoted below, represents the succession of secular world dominant power emanating from King Nebuchadnezzar. God handed over Israel over to Satan/Babylon in 587 BC. The gold head, or beginning of God's authority in secular power, is king Nebuchadnezzar. The silver chest of the statue represents the Medes and Persians who took possession of world dominant power and authority given to king Nebuchadnezzar. The Medes and the Persians are also represented in the two horned ram in DAN 8:17. The 'he goat' in DAN 8:17 is Greek power which succeeds the Medes and the Persians in world dominant secular power. The iron and tile feet of DAN 2:31 are world leaders, in the age of the Apocalypse, who have succeeded from king Nebuchadnezzar’s God given God given world dominant power to rule over Israel and the world. The feet of the statue represent secular power at the end of this dynasty of God given world dominant secular power over Israel and the world.
In Nebuchadnezzar’s dream, a stone, which is Jesus, strikes the feet of the statue and the whole dynasty of God given world dominant power and authority, in the hands of secular rulers, is turned into dust and blown away. The "mountain" which takes Babylon/Satan's place is Zion. Upon the Battle of Armageddon, Jesus will be King and world dominant Power over the world for forever more. The 'great mountain' which 'filled the whole earth' is the Restored Kingdom Israel with the rebuilt city of Jerusalem, which is Zion, as God's Holy City on earth. God's Holy City Jerusalem, which is Zion, will shine like the sun over all the earth.
“In your vision, O king, you saw a statue, very large and exceedingly bright, terrifying in appearance as it stood before you. The head of the statue was pure gold, its chest and arms were silver, its belly and thighs bronze, the legs iron, its feet partly iron and partly tile. While you looked at the statue, a stone which was hewn from a mountain without a hand being put to it, struck its iron and tile feet, breaking them in pieces. The iron, tile, bronze, silver, and gold all crumbled at once, fine as the chaff on the threshing floor in summer, and the wind blew them away without leaving a trace. But the stone that struck the statue became a great mountain and filled the whole earth.
NAB LUK 20:17'The stone which the builders rejected has become the keystone of the structure'? The man who falls on that stone will be smashed to peices, It will make dust of anyone on whom it falls."
“This was the dream; the interpretation we shall also give in the king’s presence. You, O king, are the king of kings; to you the God of heaven has given dominion and strength, power and glory; men, wild beasts, and birds of the air, wherever they may dwell, he has handed over to you, making you ruler over them all; you are the head of gold. Another kingdom shall take your place, inferior to yours, then a third kingdom, of bronze, which shall rule over the whole earth. There shall be a fourth kingdom, strong as iron; it shall break in pieces and subdue all these others, just as iron breaks in pieces and crushes everything else. The feet and toes you saw, partly of potter’s tile and partly of iron, mean that it shall be a divided kingdom, but yet have some of the hardness of iron. As you saw the iron mixed with clay tile, and the toes partly iron and partly tile, the kingdom shall be partly strong and partly fragile. The iron mixed with clay tile means that they shall seal their alliances by intermarriage, but they shall not stay united, any more than iron mixes with clay. In the lifetime of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that shall never be destroyed or delivered up to another people; rather, it shall break in pieces all these kingdoms and put an end to them, and it shall stand forever. That is the meaning of the stone you saw hewn from the mountain without a hand being put to it, which broke in pieces the tile, iron, bronze, silver, and gold. The great God has revealed to the king what shall be in the future; this is exactly what you dreamed, and its meaning is sure.”
When he came near where I was standing, I fell prostrate in terror. But he said to me, “Understand, son of man, that the vision refers to the end time.” As he spoke to me, I fell forward in a faint; he touched me and made me stand up. “I will show you,” he said, “what is to happen later in the period of wrath; for at the appointed time, there will be an end. “The two-horned ram you saw represents the kings of the Medes and Persians. The he-goat is the king of the Greeks, and the great horn on its forehead is the first king. After their reign, when sinners have reached their measure, There shall arise a king, impudent and skilled in intrigue. He shall be strong and powerful, bring about fearful ruin, and succeed in his undertaking. He shall destroy powerful peoples; his cunning shall be against the holy ones, his treacherous conduct shall succeed. He shall be proud of heart and destroy many by stealth. But when he rises against the prince of princes, he shall be broken without a hand being raised.
NAB2 REV 16:1I heard a loud voice speaking from the temple to the seven angels, “Go and pour out the seven bowls of God’s fury upon the earth.” The first angel went and poured out his bowl on the earth. Festering and ugly sores broke out on those who had the mark of the beast or worshiped its image. The second angel poured out his bowl on the sea. The sea turned to blood like that from a corpse; every creature living in the sea died. The third angel poured out his bowl on the rivers and springs of water. These also turned to blood. Then I heard the angel in charge of the waters say: “You are just, O Holy One, who are and who were, in passing this sentence. For they have shed the blood of the holy ones and the prophets, and you (have) given them blood to drink; it is what they deserve.” Then I heard the altar cry out, “Yes, Lord God almighty, your judgments are true and just.”
NAB2 EXO 7:20Moses and Aaron did as the LORD had commanded. Aaron raised his staff and struck the waters of the river in full view of Pharaoh and his servants, and all the water of the river was changed into blood. The fish in the river died, and the river itself became so polluted that the Egyptians could not drink its water. There was blood throughout the land of Egypt. But the Egyptian magicians did the same by their magic arts. So Pharaoh remained obstinate and would not listen to Moses and Aaron, just as the LORD had foretold.
NAB2 ISA 11:15The LORD shall dry up the tongue of the Sea of Egypt, and wave his hand over the Euphrates in his fierce anger And shatter it into seven streamlets, so that it can be crossed in sandals. There shall be a highway for the remnant of his people that is left from Assyria, As there was for Israel when he came up from the land of Egypt.
NAB2 JER 8:3Death will be preferred to life by all the survivors of this wicked race who remain in any of the places to which I banish them, says the LORD of hosts. Tell them: Thus says the LORD: When someone falls, does he not rise again? if he goes astray, does he not turn back? Why do these people rebel with obstinate resistance? Why do they cling to deceptive idols, refuse to turn back? I listen closely: they speak what is not true; No one repents of his wickedness, saying, “What have I done!” Everyone keeps on running his course, like a steed dashing into battle.
NAB2 JER 8:14For the LORD has wrought our destruction, he has given us poison to drink, because we have sinned against the LORD. We wait for peace to no avail; for a time of healing, but terror comes instead. From Dan is heard the snorting of his steeds; The neighing of his stallions shakes the whole land. They come devouring the land and all it contains, the city and those who dwell in it. Yes, I will send against you poisonous snakes, Against which no charm will work when they bite you, says the LORD.
NAB2 ISA 8:3The LORD said to me: Name him Maher-shalal-hash-baz, for before the child knows how to call his father or mother by name, the wealth of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria shall be carried off by the king of Assyria. Again the LORD spoke to me: Because this people has rejected the waters of Shiloah that flow gently, And melts with fear before the loftiness of Rezin and Remaliah’s son, Therefore the LORD raises against them the waters of the River, great and mighty (the king of Assyria and all his power). It shall rise above all its channels, and overflow all its banks; It shall pass into Judah, and flood it all throughout: up to the neck it shall reach; It shall spread its wings the full width of your land, Immanuel!
NAB2 ISA 11:4 The Rule of Immanuel. But a shoot shall sprout from the stump of Jesse, and from his roots a bud shall blossom. The spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him: a spirit of wisdom and of understanding, A spirit of counsel and of strength, a spirit of knowledge and of fear of the LORD, and his delight shall be the fear of the LORD. Not by appearance shall he judge, nor by hearsay shall he decide, But he shall judge the poor with justice, and decide aright for the land’s afflicted. He shall strike the ruthless with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips he shall slay the wicked. Justice shall be the band around his waist, and faithfulness a belt upon his hips. Then the wolf shall be a guest of the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; The calf and the young lion shall browse together, with a little child to guide them. The cow and the bear shall be neighbors, together their young shall rest; the lion shall eat hay like the ox. The baby shall play by the cobra’s den, and the child lay his hand on the adder’s lair. There shall be no harm or ruin on all my holy mountain; for the earth shall be filled with knowledge of the LORD, as water covers the sea. On that day, The root of Jesse, set up as a signal for the nations, The Gentiles shall seek out, for his dwelling shall be glorious. On that day, The Lord shall again take it in hand to reclaim the remnant of his people that is left from Assyria and Egypt, Pathros, Ethiopia, and Elam, Shinar, Hamath, and the isles of the sea. He shall raise a signal to the nations and gather the outcasts of Israel; The dispersed of Judah he shall assemble from the four corners of the earth. The envy of Ephraim shall pass away, and the rivalry of Judah be removed; Ephraim shall not be jealous of Judah, and Judah shall not be hostile to Ephraim; But they shall swoop down on the foothills of the Philistines to the west, together they shall plunder the Kedemites; Edom and Moab shall be their possessions, and the Ammonites their subjects. The LORD shall dry up the tongue of the Sea of Egypt, and wave his hand over the Euphrates in his fierce anger And shatter it into seven streamlets, so that it can be crossed in sandals. There shall be a highway for the remnant of his people that is left from Assyria, As there was for Israel when he came up from the land of Egypt.
NAB2 ISA 57:21No peace for the wicked! says my God.
NAB2 JER 15:19Thus the LORD answered me: If you repent, so that I restore you, in my presence you shall stand; If you bring forth the precious without the vile, you shall be my mouthpiece. Then it shall be they who turn to you, and you shall not turn to them; And I will make you toward this people a solid wall of brass. Though they fight against you, they shall not prevail, For I am with you, to deliver and rescue you, says the LORD. I will free you from the hand of the wicked, and rescue you from the grasp of the violent.
